The Ventnor Botanic Garden does not offer any benefits to Members in 2023.
Direct benefits to Members are the two editions of Ventnorensis, which is highly regarded, and the events we organise such as the Café Botanique talks, Botany walks and occasional outings both on and off the Island.
We also have an RHS ticket that Members can borrow to claim 50% on entry for 2 people to RHS properties if they are not RHS Members themselves. This can be arranged by contacting our Secretary, Mrs Jenny Parker jenniferparker126@hotmail.co.uk .
There is also the intangible benefit of supporting the Garden through us with your Membership Fee being a donation on which an additional 25% of Gift Aid can be claimed if you are a UK taxpayer.
At present, our main support is channelled through supporting 100% of the costs of Trish Brenchley to work in the Garden and co-ordinate the Volunteers, whose work represents a huge indirect financial contribution. In addition, we support and encourage the retention of the Volunteers in a number of ways. We also continue to support former apprentices who have opportunities to broaden their knowledge by working or studying at other gardens and horticultural institutions.
In addition, discounts are available at the following nursery:
- The Coastal Gardener at St Helens – 10% off all plants
