Botany Club – Summer Visits 2019
Wed 17 April: A talk by George Greiff provisionally titled ‘Who Cares About Moss’.
A Café Botanique event in the Echium Room at Ventnor Botanic Garden
George says his talk will consider how bryophytes live and why that should matter to us
£5 in the hat as usual for the Friends.
Wed 29 May at 2 pm: A wildflower walk with David & Hazel Trevan
Meet at Pelham Woods, St Lawrence. Walk along the cliff to St Lawrence Shute and down the Cripple Path back to Pelham Woods. Shorter versions are available.
Wednesday 12 June at 2 pm: Sandown Meadows
A walk with Steve Egerton-Read of Hampshire & IoW Wildlife Trust round the new reserve.
Lots of flowers, butterflies and birds.
Wednesday 10 July at 2 pm: Kingston Smallholding
The designer of Ventnorensis, Simone Dickens, and her husband David look forward to showing us around their unique small farm and garden. Their neighbour Helen Keats will allow us to walk through her arboretum.
