125 year lease is signed
11 July 2012
At last the Community Interest Company led by John Curtis has officially taken over the management of VBG. As anticipated since the end of last year, and after much negotiation, the lease has been signed by all parties. John informed the Friends’ executive last night: “We signed all the legal documents to complete the transfer from the Council today. One step, many more to follow.”
This means that the new management will now be able to forge ahead with its ambitious plans for the Garden, so watch this space for more news!
In the hours since I posted the above hot news, a press release has been issued and it has been confirmed that entry charges will be introduced this Friday, 13th July.
Update 17/07/12
See the schedule of entry fees now in operation for summer 2012 and scroll down for Friends’ special deals below the standard rates. Note that all entry passes/tickets can bought at the Garden; they are not obtainable from the Friends’ Society.
